Inspirations and Motivations

Whatever the reason for joining the ranks, inspiration and motivation must be present.

This is not just a job graphic design is a passion. Designers reveal the various ways they were drawn into the vortex by inspirational yet magnetic forces. Starting a Studio or Working for Someone Else . There are at least two options when building a design career: working for someone or working for oneself. The former requires getting hired by an existing studio or firm; the latter, and more complicated option, is to start your own business. Some designers take this leap immediately out of school; others acquire more experience through

employment with businesses on which they might model their own.

Partners on Partnering

  • Ask any graphic designer and he or she will sing the praises of collaboration. In an interconnected, cross- platform creative profession, it is impossible to be a lone genius anymore. Granted, the genius will lead and others will follow, but working and playing well with others is more essential because the vast number of platforms and outlets require multiple expertise’s— more than one person can embody at the highest level. This may account for the growth of design studios and firms with two or more partners. It certainly is the reason for single-person studios to bring in a range of people to handle anything from conception to manufacture, from brainstorming to technologizing.

Making Logos and Marks

  • The logo or trademark is the cornerstone of graphic identity (not to be confused with “branding,” which is the entire process of creating an identity). The logo is the mark that reduces all business attributes into a recognizable sign. The reason for developing a particular mark is often based on research into a company’s mission and the synthesis of its ideals into a symbol or brand. The mark itself might be so abstract that no obvious connection can be made, but, simply, the imposed relationship between it and the company imbues it with meaning.

Branding and Packaging

  • Branding is a strategy of creating a unique name, logo, image of a product to grasp the attention of the customers. It helps the customers to distinguish a product from other sellers’ product, establish the fondness and build trust. It not only leaves an impression in customers mind but allows them to know what to expect from the brand. Branding is one of the marketing tools used by the company to spread awareness about the product to the customers.
  • Packaging is a process that involves creativity to produce an attractive cover, packet, wrapper in which the product is wrapped and sold to the customers. Proper packaging is not only about creating attractive packaging but also, but it also guarantees the protection of the product without any damage. Packaging is an essential part of marketing as it is the first thing that the customers encounter.
